Sedation Dentistry

We’re here to help you feel at ease, overcome dental anxiety, and restore confidence in your oral health.

What Is Sedation Dentistry?

Sedation dentistry is designed to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable during dental treatment. It is an ideal option for those who experience anxiety, fear, or discomfort during dental visits. During your appointment, your provider will review available sedation options and recommend the best approach for your needs.

If you are looking for a more comfortable dental experience, contact Ocala Comprehensive Dentistry and Implant Center to schedule your visit.

Types of Sedation Dentistry

Inhaled Minimal Sedation
This method uses nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas) combined with oxygen, delivered through a mask placed over your nose. It helps you relax quickly, and the effects wear off shortly after treatment, allowing most patients to resume normal activities.

Oral Sedation
Oral sedation involves taking a prescribed medication before your appointment. Depending on the dosage, it can range from mild relaxation to a deeper level of sedation. You will remain awake but feel calm and at ease throughout the procedure.

General Anesthesia
This option provides a deeper level of sedation, where you are in a sleep-like state during treatment. It is typically used for more complex procedures or for patients with significant dental anxiety.
